The YLE Junior Cambridge Exams will take place on Wednesday 30th May 2012.

The English Club is a non-profit association set up in 2004 by Caroline and Nicola Ambrosi de Magistris Verzier with the main aim of introducing and promoting the teaching of English to all children (ages 3 to 16) in the Riviera-Chablais region in the Canton of Vaud.

 

Our mission - which is what makes us different to the other private schools in the area - is to ensure that quality English lessons are available to all children and not only to the families able to afford private tuition.

 

British-born Caroline Ambrosi de Magistris Verzier, co-founder of the association obtained a Bachelors Degree (BA) in English Literature and a Master Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MATESOL) from the highly reputed Institute of Education-University of London and is responsible for the training of the teaching staff.

The courses are tailormade for children allowing the children to have fun while learning as well as building up solid grammar bases which will help them to feel at ease with the language.

Immersion is immediate as all lessons take place entirely in English with teachers who receive continuous training.

There are a maximum of 10 students per class to allow for a personalized approach.

 

The English Club works with the Communes and Headmasters who distribute our subscription forms in the local State schools of the region. Alternatively, these forms can also be found at the respective School Secretariat offices.

The English Club also prepares the students for the 'Junior Cambridge Exams'- (YLE) which are recognised worldwide.

Personalized 'coaching' lessons and private lessons are also organised as well as courses for children who already speak English and may have relocated to Switzerland from an English speaking country.
